The 2020 Subaru Ascent Adds A New Safety Feature

The Subaru Ascent hit the ground running last year and has quickly become the best SUV for active families. So you may be wondering what the new model has to offer after just one year on the road. The 2020 Ascent has a few updates that include a new standard safety feature.

Families have a lot to love about the Subaru Ascent, like standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, 19 cupholders, 86.5 cubic feet of maximum cargo space, and the ideal blend of powerful and efficient performance. Now there is one more standard feature that the Ascent has to offer. Subaru Rear Seat Reminder will alert drivers to double-check the rear seat when the following conditions have been met:

  • If the Ascent is started within 30 minutes after a rear side door is opened and closed
  • If a rear side door is opened and closed when the vehicle is running and stationary
  • If the Ascent is turned off and back on again within 30 minutes and the rear side doors remained closed.

The 2020 Ascent has one other new feature that is available on the Premium trim level and standard on the Limited and Touring trim levels. The hands-free power rear liftgate makes opening the cargo area easy when your hands are full and also includes memory height and locking function.
