The 2023 Subaru Legacy is a practical and comfortable family sedan that provides a wealth of added features and optional upgrades that make it a great choice for those looking for a reliable and versatile vehicle for their daily drive.

The Subaru Legacy is one of the best options on the market for drivers looking for a reliable, safe, and comfortable vehicle that’s versatile enough to take you to work, pick up the kids, and take them to soccer practice all in one trip. With a spacious interior, an incredibly efficient pair of powertrain options, and a whole suite of safety technology, there’s a lot to love about the 2023 Legacy.

What’s New in 2023?

The changes for the Legacy’s 2023 model year are minor but still worth taking into consideration. The exterior across all trim levels has been updated with new headlights, a new bumper design, and a new front grille. Optional emergency steering has been added to the safety software suite for all trim levels, and the Touring XT trim level now comes with an HD 360-degree camera to help make it easier to see around your vehicle in tight spaces.

Engine and Performance

The base-level Legacy is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that can produce 182 horsepower at an impressive average combined fuel economy rating of 30 mpg. The Sport and Touring XT trim levels come with an upgraded 2.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 260 horsepower for those looking for a bit of extra power, which clocks in at an average combined fuel economy rating of 27 mpg. Both drivetrains come in AWD.

Interior and Comfort

The interior of the Legacy is quite roomy, and you can comfortably sit five adults in the cabin while still storing luggage in the trunk, which has just over 15 cubic feet of cargo space. Cloth upholstery is standard but can be upgraded to leather in higher-level trims, which changes the seats as well as the accents on the doors and dashboard.

Tech and Safety

The base level is equipped with dual 7-inch touchscreens that make up the infotainment system’s interface, which can be upgraded to an 11.6-inch single screen with integrated navigation on higher-level trims.

Beyond the internal tech, the Legacy is also equipped with Subaru’s market-leading safety technology, including standard automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with lane centering and automatic following distance maintenance, and lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist systems.
